I wasn't as into Ricky Steamboat, but when I saw him wear the red karate headband, it also reminded me of a childhood show I saw called Bionic 6. It's a superhero cartoon about an American family who have a couple adopted children, one of whom looked like Ricky Steamboat with the headband. It brought back memories of enjoying seeing the hot men of this family struggle to fight evil
The one who looked like Ricky Steamboat was named Bunji but when he had superpowers he was called Karate-1. This is random but I remember one episode where Karate-1 got lassoed by an evil guy's chain and strangling him made him lose his superpowers. The dad/leader in the family was also very hot
I can't believe you have the gall to suggest the head of the family hero muscle daddy could get beaten! Any hope to battle evil would be lost for good if that were the case. I don't remember such a moment and I'm not sure why my heart (and maybe other body parts) is racing at the thought of that happening now.
I don't think I had a videotape of the episode of Bunji at the time, but I remember wishing I could record and then just watch that moment over and over where the chain squeezed around his body like a snake until he lost his powers.
Also, even though I had vivid memories, I've read on wikipedia it was not a successful show, so it didn't go on long and not many people (kids I assume) saw it like I did

I didn't know anything about Bionic-1 and had never heard of it. Bunji reminds me of Ricky Steamboat as you say. He does karate-moves. too.
I guess you remember the episode where Bunji lost his power because it tuned you on? Maybe scene where the hot daddy got beaten was hotter?
